HEC Foreign Scholarships 2024 For Balochistan 

The Higher Education Commission, Islamabad, announces local and foreign scholarships for Balochistani students seeking to pursue LLB, LLM, and Ph.D. degrees. LLB and LLM students enrolled in local universities may be eligible to apply for scholarships. Applicants seeking LLB or Ph.D. degrees have the option of applying for foreign scholarships. There are scholarships available under the “Law Graduates Scholarship Programme for Students of Balochistan for Study Abroad – HEC”. Local universities across the country will award scholarships based on the scores achieved in their LLB and LLM departments. Scholarships will be given as full scholarships, and will be valued at approximately $1,000. Online applications must be submitted by December 19, 2024. For the award of scholarships for law studies in the following categories, applications are invited from applicants having a residence and local certificate in Balochistan Province.

Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant must possess a Balochistan Domicile/Local Certificate

  • At the time of application submission, the maximum age was:

    • LLB (5 years): 25 years

    • LLM: 30 years

    • Ph.D.: 35 years

  • Applicants for LLB, LLM, and Ph.D. scholarships must have completed HSSC/equivalent, LLB, and LLM degrees from HEC-recognized universities before the application deadline.

  • Applicants must score at least 50% on their BISE intermediate exams/equivalent with 12 years of education.

  •  In order to apply for LLM and Ph.D. programs, the applicant must have earned a Bachelor’s degree from an HEC-recognized institution with at least 50% marks.

  • Applicants must secure a minimum of 50% marks (Accumulative Test Score) in Aptitude Test.

  • Applicants must have acquired the requisite academic qualification on or before the closing date. Students who are awaiting results are not eligible to apply.

  • This scholarship is not open to applicants who are already applying for any other scholarship.

How to apply for HEC Local and Foreign Scholarships ?

  • Applications may only be submitted online through eportal.hec.gov.pk

  • Hard copies of applications and any other documents are not required at this stage.

  • In order to apply, applicants must deposit/make an online transfer/bank draft/pay order/ATM transfer of Rs. 500/­ (Non-refundable), as application processing fee in favor of the Director General Finance, HEC. You can deposit the fee into Habib Bank Limited A/C No. 1742-79001334-01.

  • The applicant should keep a copy of the original bank payment slip/record to submit when required by the HEC.

  • Incomplete applications in any respect will not be considered.

Important Details

  • Candidates will be shortlisted based on their test scores and academic credentials. The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of merit.

  • Children from families of victims (martyred/severely injured) of the blast in Quetta on August 8, 2016, are eligible for 15-20% scholarships.

  • If no students from victim families are available, scholarships will be awarded to other eligible students on the basis of merit.

  • For admission to LLB, LLM, and Ph.D. programs, applicants must meet HEC and university eligibility criteria.

  • Only HEC-recognized public sector institutions or W-category private universities will be considered for scholarships.

  • An admission letter from one of the top 500 universities (based on QS rankings) must accompany foreign scholarship applications.

  • Applicants will provide online information/data to prepare a merit list of scholarships. In case of any misrepresentation/error/omission, the scholarship shall be canceled at any stage.

  •  If the applicants are already employed/serving, they should be from the law-relevant field (Practicing lawyer, judicial officer, law faculty members, and prosecutors from prosecution departments). The Scholarship Management Committee would review the organizations of already employed applicants. The decision of the committee to consider already employed candidates will be final and not subject to challenge.

  • Organizations will require service employees to provide NOCs and take study leave.

  •  Only those applicants who meet the eligibility criteria and other requirements, will be considered for further shortlisting.

  • HEC reserves the right to postpone or cancel the Scholarship process at any stage without assigning any reason.

  •  Last date for submission of online application: December 19, 2024
