  • Registration Last Date: 27th June 2024
  • Orientation Day: 2nd July 2024 to 3rd July 2024
  • Entry Test Date: 5th to 8th July 2024.

General Admission Requirements

1.1. Undergraduate Admission Requirements – Non-Engineering Programs

A prospective applicant to a Non-Engineering Undergraduate program must have:

Intermediate or equivalent (12 years) qualification with minimum 50% marks in Intermediate and no 3rd division in matriculation.

In the case of O Level, A-Level, American High School Diploma, or any other equivalent foreign qualification, an equivalence certificate from IBCC is mandatory.

In case the foreign diploma/transcript is in any language other than English or Urdu, an officially translated copy of the diploma/transcript is mandatory.

An officially translated copy is the one verified by the degree-awarding institution, respective foreign ministry, or an authorized public notary.

50% passing marks in NAT/Admission Test and Interview are required for admission.

2.2 Undergraduate Admission Requirements – Engineering Programs

A prospective applicant to an Engineering Undergraduate program must have:

  1. Intermediate or equivalent (12 years) qualification with Engineering group having minimum 60% marks and no 3rd division in matriculation.
  2. In the case of O Levels, A-Levels, American High School Diploma, or any other equivalent foreign qualification, an equivalence certificate from IBCC is mandatory.
  3. In case the foreign diploma/transcript is in any language other than English or Urdu, an officially translated copy of the diploma/transcript is mandatory.
  4. An officially translated copy is the one verified by the degree-awarding institution, respective foreign ministry, or an authorized public notary.
  5. 50% passing marks in UMT Admission Test/Interview are required for admission.

1.2. Masters Program Admission Requirements

A prospective applicant to a 16 Years equivalent Masters program must have:

  1. 14 Years qualification with 45% marks in case of an annual system in the degree-awarding institution.
  2. 14 Years qualification with 2.0/4.0 CGPA in case of semester system in the degree-awarding institution.
  3. In case of an equivalent foreign qualification, an equivalent certificate from Higher Education Commission is mandatory.
  4. In case the foreign degree/transcript is in any language other than English or Urdu, an officially translated copy of the degree/transcript is mandatory.
  5. An officially translated copy is the one verified by the degree-awarding institution, respective foreign ministry, or an authorized public notary.
  6. 50% passing marks in UMT Admission Test/Interview are required for admission.

1.3. MS/M. Phil or 18 Years Program Admission Requirements

A prospective applicant to an MS/M Phil or 18 Years equivalent program must have:

16 years of formal education with at least 2.50 CGPA.

No third division in an entire academic career.

Pass any of the following with 50% marks:

  1. GRE / GAT / NTS (General); or
  2. UMT Graduate Admission Test; and
  3. Admission Interview by UMT Graduate Admission Committee

Minimum 50% marks in the previous degree in the case of the annual system or 2.50/4.0 CGPA in the case of the semester system in the degree-awarding institution for admission in UMT MS/MPhil, LLM, or MBA programs.

Fulfilled the minimum criteria of HEC for admission in MS/M.Phil program. Meet the specific eligibility criteria, if any, of the department/school concerned.

In case of an equivalent foreign qualification, an equivalent certificate from Higher Education Commission is mandatory.

In case the foreign degree/transcript is in any language other than English or Urdu, an officially translated copy of the degree/transcript is mandatory.

An officially translated copy is the one verified by the degree-awarding institution, respective foreign ministry, or an authorized public notary.

1.4. Ph.D. Program Admission Requirements

A prospective applicant to a Ph.D. program must have:

  1. Earned minimum CGPA of 3.00 or first division in MS/M.Phil or Equivalent degree.
  2. No third division in an entire academic career.
  3. Completed at least 24 credit hours of coursework and 6 credit hours of research (thesis).
  4. Pass GRE / GAT (Subject) test with 60% marks or 60th percentile in case of GRE.
  5. In a discipline where this test is not available, the test will be developed locally by a university committee consisting of at least 3 Ph.D. faculty members in the subject area in consultation with external experts and the qualifying score for this will be 70%.
  6. Fulfilled the minimum criteria of HEC for admission in the Ph.D. program. Meet the specific eligibility criteria, if any, of the department/school concerned.
  7. In case of an equivalent foreign qualification, an equivalent certificate from Higher Education Commission is mandatory.
  8. In case the foreign degree/transcript is in any language other than English or Urdu, an officially translated copy of the degree/transcript is mandatory.
  9. An officially translated copy is the one verified by the degree-awarding institution, respective foreign ministry, or an authorized public notary.

University of Management Technology UMT is now an independent, not-for-profit, private institution of higher learning; received her degree awarding charter first as the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) in 2002 through an Act of the Assembly of Punjab. Later, on 16 June 2004, IMT became the University of Management and Technology through the passing of a similar Act by the Punjab Assembly.

How to Apply

  • Get the Admission Kit that is available with the Office of Admissions for Rs 1500/-
  • Outstation candidates can receive the Admission Kit by sending a bank draft/money order of Rs 2000/- in favor of UMT.
  • Fill the Application Form provided with the Kit.
  • Submit the form on or before the deadline.
  • Enclose the following material with the Form:
    • Four photographs of size 1″ x 1”. From amongst these three:
      • Affix one photograph on the UMT Admit Card
      • Attach the remaining photographs with the Application Form.
    • Photocopy of National Identity Card or domicile.
    • Copies of academic records including mark sheets, degrees, certificates, diplomas, etc., duly attested by a gazetted officer or equivalent.
    • A provisional certificate from the head of the institution, in case of the result, is awaited.
    • Copy of the Roll No. Slip and a Provisional Certificate from a gazetted officer, in case of a private candidate.
    • Equivalence certificate from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan in case of applicants with foreign qualifications.
    • Experience Certificate (if applicable).
