Beginning in April of 2006, the KMU Institute of Medical and Dental Sciences KIMS in Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan was established as a private medical school. In KMU-IMS/IDS students can choose to take part in five-year courses that lead to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery MBBS degrees in addition to an undergraduate programmes that is four years long and leads into a Bachelor of Dental Surgery BDS degree.
It has been approved by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council as a public medical institution. 100 students get admitted to the MBBS programmes based on their ETEA scores. 50 students are enrolled in the BDS programmes. KMU is affiliated with Peshawar’s Khyber Medical University.
Eligibility Standards
The applicant must have passed the Fsc Pre-Medical Part II Examination or its equivalent.
The candidate must produce an F.Sc. Pre-Medical Part-I marks certificate with at least 60 percent, which must be confirmed by the institution’s head.
Applicants from countries other than the United Kingdom who have successfully completed an intermediate or equivalent course in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics must possess the British IBCC Certificate.
