In the early 1970s, there were only two Medical Colleges in Sindh, one in Karachi and other in Jamshoro. The then Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, who belonged to Larkana city, had the vision that there should be a Medical College in this area. Then they announced a Medical college in the very city with the name of Chandka Medical College.The college started functioning on 20th April 1973. The request was fully supported and applauded by 500 graduates of CMC to which Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed gave a knot. Domicile and PRC form C

Applicants must have the Domicile on P-1 form and PRC on form “C” along with Domicile of Father/ Mother/ Guardian on P-1 form of the same district tagged to SMBBMU Larkana for applying on all categories viz General district merit, Merit cum choice, Disabled, UEAP (Local & Overseas Pakistanis)

 To submit application form

  • Original completely filled application form along with Photostat copy of required documents duly attested by 18 or above grade officer shall be submitted within due date at TCS Express Centers mentioned below.
  • Original receipt of Online payment of Rs: 1500/- (Rupees one thousand five hundred only) as Entry Test fee non-refundable in the name of Vice-Chancellor SMBBMU Larkana account No. 0259385831000344, paid in any branch of MCB Bank. Write the name of the candidate with a father?s name and district on the back of the receipt.
  • The representative of TCS Express Centers are authorized to check eligibility criteria as given in the prospectus, before accepting application forms.
  • Candidates can fill the ONLINE form available on the web site of SMBBMU, Larkana
  • For all purposes, the information provided by the candidate on the application form of prospectus shall be considered valid and final.
  • Filling ONLINE Form only will not be considered and shall render the candidate ineligible for the entry test. For eligibility to appear in the entry test, the ONLINE Form and Application Form provided with the Prospectus duly filled along with relevant documents must be submitted within the due date.

Admission policy

The admissions will be based on the principle of equal opportunities to all without discrimination of gender, color, and creed.
The students will be admitted through the Pre-Entry Test to be conducted by the University. Transparency in admissions will be ensured.
50% of total seats are reserved for the bonafide residents of — Lyari, Gadap, Keamari, and Malir; and the remaining 50% of seats are divided in all districts of Sindh including Karachi district. The Quality Criteria enunciated by HEC will be adhered to strictly.
Students who maintain a minimum of 80% of attendance, discipline in classroom/campus and excel in performance will be awarded Freeships/Qarz-e-Hasna.

How to apply

  • An application form for admission is available along with this booklet.
  • Applicants are directed to read carefully the directions in this booklet before filling in the form.
  • They should attach a powder photocopy of the filled-in form together with the original.
  • They are also directed to attach two powder photocopies of the mark sheet of the pre-requisite examination.
  • They should attach 1st year and 2nd-year mark sheets of HSC (for BS Hons.)
    It should be noted that mark sheets which do not give details of the marks awarded in both the years but only give a consolidated total will not be accepted.
  • Applicants are instructed to select departments strictly in accordance with eligibility criteria A maximum of 03 choices of departments can be given in order of preference.
  • The names of the departments should be mentioned very carefully since it is not possible to make any changes in the form once it is submitted.
  • A merit list will be prepared for every department after verification of the eligibility and mark sheets of the applicants, on the basis of criteria set down for that department.
  • The provisional list of successful candidates along with necessary instructions will be displayed at the admission office.
  • If any candidates feels that his / her name has not been included in the merit list even though he/she has secured merit marks and satisfies the other conditions of eligibility for admission to any department he/she has applied for, such candidates should submit an application of his/her grievance along with a Bank pay order/ DD of Rs. 500/- within the stipulated period.
  • If the claim is found to be valid due to error in processing by the admission committee, the cost of claim form will be refunded and admission will be granted to the candidate according to rules and regulations.
  • Students applying on Sports seats should attach sport certificates and other supporting documents with their application.
  • At the time of admission of Foreign Student, they required to submit original equivalent certificates issued by I.B.C.C permanently or photocopy of the same


  • For admission in the Faculties of Management & Administrative Sciences, Computing Sciences and Arts /Social Sciences, the candidate should have obtained a minimum of 45 percent marks in the pre-requisite examination (Grace / Condonation marks will not be counted).
  • A student placed in 3rd division or obtaining less than 45 percent marks in the pre-requisite examination is not eligible for admission to the University.
  • A candidate who has already obtained a BS or Masters Degree is not eligible for readmission or fresh admission in any BS Program.
  • If any such case comes to the notice, the student’s admission will be canceled, and legal action can be initiated against him/her.
  • Candidates desirous of taking admission on the basis of degree certificates awarded by parent’s sector institutions in Pakistan should get the equivalent of their degrees/ certificates.
  • Inadvertent admission of candidates from non-recognized institutions can be canceled at any time.
  • At the time of admission of Foreign Student, they required to submit original equivalent certificates issued by I.B.C.C permanently or photocopy of the same
