Nishtar Medical College is located in Multan, Punjab, Pakistan. It is named after the politician Sardar Abdul Rab Nishtar. It is formed in 1951; it is the 3rd oldest medical institution of Pakistan. Nishtar medical college is affiliated with Nishtar hospital which has a capacity of 1800 beds. The college supports 1600 students in total. Being the oldest medical college of Pakistan it has produced several generations of doctors and dentists.

Students from several countries study at the institute. The overall ranking of this college is impressive within Pakistan as well as in the Middle East. The institute has produced Palestinian, Jordanian, Saudi Arabian, Yemeni, Mauritian, Somali, Nigerian, Libyan, Sudanese, U.A.E, Iraqi, Bengali, Afghani, Maldivian, American, Canadian, U.K., Sri Lankan, and Nepalese doctors.

As admission to the college is done by the Government of the Punjab, Health Department, the policy of admission is modified for each session. Nishtar Medical College is recognized for the training postgraduate trainees of the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP), Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Edinburgh, England, Glasgow, and Ireland.

Eligibility:

1.   Applicants having domicile of Punjab and Federal Capital Area shall be eligible to apply for admission in Government Medical and Dental Colleges of Punjab.
2. Applicants must have secured 715/1100 unadjusted marks in F.Sc. (Pre-medical) or equivalent examination (without including the marks of Hafiz-e-Quraan).
3. Candidates who possess qualifications equivalent to intermediate (Pre-Medical) in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English can apply for admission.
4. The equivalence of qualification and calculation of marks of the candidates holding qualification other than F.Sc (pre-medical) will be determined by the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen, Islamabad. (IBCC)
