In the previous century, a lot of invents creates in the world of Science, one of them invents Space science is very significant, that has been an energetic force behind this development and has modernized the process of improvement. In this background, it was decided in the year 2002 to establish a new upcoming educational institution that would communicate specific education in space and related science to provide our nation at similarity with the overseas international community. Then the Institute of Space Technology established in September 2002 offering undergraduate degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Communication Systems Engineering as its core disciplines. The institute providing academic degrees and programs, general programs and professionals engineering programs that are approved by The Higher Education Commission HEC and The Pakistan Engineering Council PEC. This institute also offers Linked Graduate Programs in association with foreign universities. In Fall 2008, the institute launched an undergraduate program in the field of Materials Science & Engineering, as well as a graduate program in Communication Engineering. Starting from fall 2011, the institute launched an additional undergraduate program in the field of Electrical Engineering instead of Communication Systems Engineering. Apart from these indigenous programs, the institute is collaborating with Beihang University (BUAA), Northern Polytechnic University (NPU), China and University of Surrey (UniS), UK to offer linked master’s programs in more than dozen areas.

Students appearing for HSSC/A-Level final exams in 2024 are eligible to apply for admission in Undergraduate Programs of IST.
For FSC/ICS Students: Merit will be determined based on the marks obtained in SSC/O-Level, FSC (Part-1) & NAT-1E/1CS.
For A-Level Students: Merit will be determined based on the marks obtained in SSC/O-Level & NAT-1E/1CS.
Entry Test:
Candidates are required to take the NAT-1E/ NAT-1CS test for admissions at IST. Please note that NAT-1E is acceptable for admission in all undergraduate programs offered by IST whereas NAT-1CS is acceptable only for admission in BS Space Science. The test is conducted by NTS in all major cities of Pakistan.
Eligibility Criteria:
A candidate seeking admission to a baccalaureate degree program at IST must meet the following criteria:
Candidates must fulfill the following conditions:
SSC/ O-Level/ Equivalent certificate (Science) with 60% marks
FSc Pre-Engineering with minimum 60% overall marks (Part-1 and Part-2 combined); however, a student must also have 60% marks in each Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry for admission.
A-Level / Cambridge students should have an IBCC certificate equivalent to FSc Pre-Engineering with overall 60% marks and must have at least C Grade in each Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry for admission.
50% marks in NAT-IE.
Age Limit: 22 Years
For Space Science Program:
SSC/ O-Level/ Equivalent certificate (Science) with 60% marks
FSc Pre-Engineering/ Computer Science/ ICS students can apply for the Space Science Program.
